Inspired by Hikaru Utada’s “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI”, I designed a book emphasizing on the idea of covering, resampling, and homage. Highlighting the melancholy tone of the original film “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence”, the interactive piece creates an immersive experience by juxtaposition of the three layers of covering–the film, Utada’s song, and my definition of these pieces.
